Separating profile maintenance from discovery

Keeping a professional profile current and helping someone find the right person are different jobs.
Charlie Greenman’s article, “The two jobs inside ProfileScribe’s abandoned network idea,” explains that combining source-backed profiles with agent-managed discovery made the professional-network idea too broad. The distinction matters for product scope: representing someone’s work accurately calls for a different focus than helping others discover it. Treating those as separate jobs makes it easier to judge what each experience needs to do.
