Authentication is part of the Lambda code-sharing design

Abstracts

Sharing logic between Lambda functions is also a question of how the functions communicate and authenticate.

In “Serverless Mono Repo State Machine using only AWS S3 and API requests,” I compare TypeScript sharing and Lambda layers with an approach where a Step Function calls the main Lambda through an API request. The article then moves beyond access tokens to AWS_IAM for authentication. That detail matters when evaluating the approach: code reuse needs a clear path for the call as well as a place for the logic to live.
