Keep profile changes reviewable and reversible

Abstracts

A draft should not be permission to change someone’s professional profile.

In “Practical AI systems need boring edges,” I argue for queuing proposed changes and carrying citations with them. That gives a reviewer a chance to check what a claim rests on before approving it, while keeping actions reversible if a correction is needed.

That boundary matters in work like ProfileScribe: a plausible description of someone’s work is not necessarily a verified one. Automation can prepare the change; a person should decide whether it belongs on the profile.
