Route availability by relationship

Being available for a first-time call at 3 a.m. is not the same as moving quickly.
In “Availability is a routing problem,” I argue for routing access by relationship: external partners get predictable calendar slots, while off-hours access stays with leadership. A scheduled first conversation can still be responsive—and it gives both sides a purpose, a duration, and a next step.
The professional tradeoff is about judgment. If every incoming request can interrupt a founder, other people’s urgency starts setting the agenda. https://grnmn.com/blog/availability-is-a-routing-problem/
