A scheduled conversation can be a better first commitment than an immediate yes: it has a duration, a purpose, and a next step.
That’s the distinction I draw in “Availability is a routing problem.” For an external partner, a predictable calendar slot makes the conversation concrete without making instant access the default. It’s a practical way to respect the relationship while protecting the attention needed for the work.
