Knowledge people can interrogate

Abstracts

A useful knowledge system should let people question the material, not just read it in a fixed order.

In “The Age of Reading—and Writing—Is Over,” I argue that AI can create personalized representations grounded in their sources. The aim is to give people more ways to interrogate what they’re learning while keeping critical thinking in human hands.

That distinction matters in my work on reviewable professional knowledge. A representation should help someone examine the material behind it, not merely deliver a polished account.
