For a founder with a larger intellectual project, building a profitable company can be a more useful first step than perfecting the framework.
In “Build the institution before the worldview,” I argue that building the company forces concrete decisions and teaches skills. Profitability can give the larger work a patron, while putting the framework first risks turning it into an identity trap.
