Breastfeeding support when a parent has Bell’s palsy

Abstracts

Breastfeeding support needs to account for the parent’s health, not just the feeding routine.

In “Managing Bell’s Palsy While Breastfeeding,” I write about meeting a mother who wanted to breastfeed while going through Bell’s palsy. The article addresses questions about prednisone as well as the importance of family and healthcare support. It’s a reminder that a lactation conversation should make room for what the parent is managing day to day, while medication decisions belong with her healthcare team.
